Canadian Beer Company Adaptive Reuse

A Canadian brewery owned 28 stainless steel 20,000 gallon rail tank cars that were surplus to their needs and accumulating large monthly yard storage fees. Most of the world had moved over to larger capacity rail tank cars and management could not sell these assets. Rider Opportunity Group canvassed alternative rail tank car users and developed a market for them as “mobile chemical storage tanks”. Instead of stationary tanks to store liquid raw materials and inventory, these stainless insulated tanks could be moved between buildings and plant sites. The price was right and several of our customers in the chemical industry scooped them up.
